Life
Lawrence Donald Soens was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Davenport on May 6, 1950 .
Pope John Paul II named him Bishop of Sioux City on June 15, 1983 . The Archbishop of Dubuque , James Joseph Byrne , ordained him episcopal on August 17th of that year ; Co- consecrators were Gerald Francis O'Keefe , Bishop of Davenport, and Frank Henry Greteman , Bishop Emeritus of Sioux City.
He resigned from his office on November 28, 1998.
