Lawrence Thienchai Samanchit
Lawrence Thienchai Samanchit ( Thai : ล อ เร น ซ์ เทียน ชัย สมาน จิต , pronunciation: [ lɔːren tʰiːanʨʰaj sàmaːnʨìt ]; born November 28, 1931 in Ban Huaphai, Tambon Khok Khinon, Amphoe Phan Thong , Chonburi Province , central Thailand ) is a bishop emeritus from Chanthaburi .
Life
Lawrence Thienchai Samanchit was ordained a priest on January 29, 1959 and was incardinated in the clergy of the Chanthaburi diocese .
Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Chanthaburi on July 3, 1971. The episcopal consecration donated him the bishop emeritus of Chanthaburi, Francis Xavier Sanguon Souvannasri , on October 3rd of the same year; Co- consecrators were Joseph Khiamsun Nittayo , Archbishop of Bangkok , and Michel Kien Samophithak , Archbishop of Thare and Nonseng .
On April 4, 2009 Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
