history
The Lazarists were brought from Kulm to Krakow by Bishop Jan Małachowski in 1682 , where they were initially housed on the Wawel. Construction of the Lazarist Church began in 1693. From 1719 to 1728 it was expanded by Kacper Bażanka in the late Baroque style. Bażanka used numerous mirrors inside the church for illusion purposes. The inauguration by Bishop Michał Kunicki did not take place until 1732. The main painter was designed by Tadeusz Kuntze in 1761–62 . Other baroque works of art in the church were created by Łukasz Orłowski and Antoni Frąckiewicz , among others . Works of art from the 19th century were created for the church by Aleksander Kotsis , Walery Eljasz-Radzikowski and Izydor Jabłoński . The church also owns works by the mannerist painter Martin Kober . In the 20th century, among others, Viktor Zin left his mark on the church.
