From there it flows 35 km in a predominantly south-south-west direction. It finally flows 32 km east of Petersburg into the rear end of LeConte Bay , a bay of Frederick Sound .
The LeConte Glacier is the southernmost glacier in the northern hemisphere that flows into a sea. Since the first recording in 1887, the glacier has km around 4 withdrawn . Today its size is believed to be stable.
