Roncole Verdi , formerly called Le Roncole , is a suburb of Busseto in the province of Parma , Italy , which is now incorporated .

It is the birthplace of Giuseppe Verdi , the house where he was born still stands and is now a museum. Not far away is Giuseppe Verdi's retirement home, Villa Verdi , in Sant'Agata, a district of Villanova sull'Arda . The premises also house a museum about the great composer. The Italian state has awarded the house, together with the birth houses of Giacomo Puccini and Gioachino Rossini , the European Heritage Seal .

The writer and journalist Giovannino Guareschi , famous as the author of the stories of Don Camillo and Peppone, also lived in Roncole from 1952 until his death in 1968 . This is also where he was buried. Guareschi's house can now also be viewed as a museum; there you can also see a lot of the drawings that Guareschi made for his books and newspaper articles.
