Fionn Birr from hip-hop magazine Juice rated the album 2.5 out of a possible 6 crowns. He particularly criticized productions and texts because, in his opinion, “parental shock moments are constructed in rows on anachronistic Ballermann beats from the TNGHT Trap School”, which are “toothless provocations”. In addition, he negatively emphasized the lack of variety of topics and the level of rhyme of the title Stand .

Dominik Lippe from laut.de rated life at the limit with four out of a possible five points. The album is "pleasant to consume over long distances" and the refrains are easy to listen to. "Really exciting", however, are the lyrics that "make the duo stand out from the crowd". Weak points, however, are the "ingratiating use of autotune on I don't have a lighter or the little innovative gangster storyteller suburban boy ".

Oliver Marquart from rap.de described Leben am Limit as a “cleanly produced, extremely entertaining album with attitude”. It is good to "hear again an authentic commitment to excess, to escalation, to crossing boundaries between all the double standards". Krutsch's production is also praised.

Editor Lukas Päckert from MZEE stated that the basic concept of the Berliners was still the same: "Most catchy hooks and provocative-harsh texts, everything packed for the next party." Nevertheless, SXTN sat down with "quite critically and enlightening Topics like sexism apart. ”It is interesting that“ in keeping with the somewhat more profound content, the beats are produced more calmly, but the melodies are no less catchy than the rest of the party tracks. ”
