Lebjaschjewski rajon

The Lebjaschjewski rajon ( Russian Лебяжьевский район ) is one of 24 Rajons of Kurgan Oblast in Russia .

The Lebjaschjewski rajon is located in the east of the oblast. In 2010, 16,557 people lived on an area of ​​3810 square kilometers, which is a decrease of around 30% compared to 1989 (23,490 inhabitants, 2002: 21,178).

The administrative seat of the district that gives it its name is the urban-type Lebjaschje settlement , by far the largest town in which almost 40% of the residents of the district live. In addition to the township (gorodskoje posselenije) Lebjaschje, the Rajon includes 18 rural communities (selskoje posselenije). The communities unite a total of 50 localities.

The southern route of the Trans-Siberian Railway Samara - Chelyabinsk - Omsk and the federal highway R254 Irtysh (formerly M51) from Chelyabinsk via Omsk to Novosibirsk run through the Rajon .
