Lee Kyung-hwan ( Korean 이경환 ; March 21, 1988 , † April 14, 2012 in Incheon ) was a South Korean football player .

Career

Lee played on the college team at Myoungsin University and joined the Daejeon Citizen in 2009 . In 2011 he was signed by the Suwon Bluewings . During his time with the Citizen he was involved in match fixing, which resulted in a major soccer betting scandal in the K League in 2011; as a result, he was suspended for life from the South Korean soccer leagues in August 2011.

On April 14, 2012, he committed suicide in Incheon at the age of 24 . This was the fourth suicide by a person involved in the betting scandal. The player Yoon Ki-won of Incheon United , Jung Jong-kwan of Seoul United and former coach Lee Su-chul of Sangmu Phoenix committed suicide in 2011.
