Lee Matthew Shieh-Ming

Lee Matthew Shieh-Ming ( Chinese  李世明 ; * 1956 in Penghu County ) is a Taiwanese diplomat .

After working as a translator and editor for the China Times from 1981 to 1982 , he worked in the protocol department of the Taiwanese Foreign Ministry until 1983 and then in the local department for North America until 1985. He then worked as deputy consul in Seattle until 1991 . From 1991 to 1994 he was the office manager of Senator Chien-Jen Chen, who later became head of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Washington, DC. Further career stations were the position of the deputy consul general in Los Angeles (1994 to 1997) and the activity as office manager General Manager of the Information Office of the Executive Yuan (1997-1999) and as a Legals Councilor at that Information Office (1999-2000). From 2000 to 2002 he headed the General Department of the Taiwanese Foreign Ministry before becoming Consul General in San Francisco . In 2005 he moved to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Riga as head .

In 2006 he was appointed ambassador to Koror ( Palau ). From 2008 to 2009 he worked as Chief of Protocol and from 2009 to 2011 as Director General of East Asian Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He then headed the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Buenos Aires (2011 to 2014) and in Amman (2014 to 2015). Since January 23, 2016, he has represented the government in Taipei at the Holy See .
