Leesten

Leesten is a district of the municipality Strullendorf in the district of Bamberg in Upper Franconia , Bavaria .

Leesten is about 300 m above sea level. NN. and is located on State Highways 2188 and  2210 . In 2010, 259 inhabitants were counted in Leesten.

The place name comes from the Slavic word Liescina , which means hazel bushes. On January 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality of Leesten was incorporated into the municipality of Strullendorf.

The Franconian Marienweg runs through the village .
