history

In 1109, the holy bishop Otto von Bamberg gave Zeegendorf "with all benefits" to the St. Jakob monastery in Bamberg. In 1391 Ulrich Marckard, "sat at Zechendorf", stated that he "took a lease on a farm in Zechendorf to our dear Mrs. Acker der Capellen zu Mistendorf".

In 1430 this chapel was elevated to a parish church. Between 1183 and 1234 "Gundeloch, Reinold and Siegfried von Zeegendorf" were named as witnesses in property transactions. You must have been the Bamberg Ministeriale.

In Zeegendorf there used to be a stately home. In 1432 an "upper whale and seat" was named in the village. The tax list for 1525 says: “Otto Nüßlein is sitting on an estate, the Wall, owned by Hans Nüßlein. Is feudal to my master from the chapter in the cathedral monastery. ”In 1633 the brothers Veit and Pankraz Nüßlein owned three farms. This also included the property on the Wall, no longer a stately property. During these war years, the courtyards fell victim to the flames. The house name Burg still reliably testifies to the location of the former property.

Zeegendorf used to belong to the Memmelsdorf judicial district . From there the Vogt came several times a year and sat in court. 13 other villages belonged to the court of Zeegendorf. They also had to provide the magistrates.

After 1594 Mistendorf became the place of jurisdiction. In 1627, 200 residents took part in compulsory confession at Easter. They were subordinate to 12 feudal lords. Most of the fiefs were owned by the dean of the cathedral at 22 and the Streitberger zu Burggrub (Veit Hector) at six, including the two inns. These were burned down by the Swedes in 1633, along with 13 other farms. In 1636 the Easter confessors were again precisely recorded. There were only 55 left, 18 men and 37 women. When the knights of Streitberg died out in the male line in 1690, the Schenk von Stauffenberg took over the Zeegendorfer fiefdom.

In 1952 the construction of the branch church in Zeegendorf was completed. On August 24th, St. Joseph was consecrated. In 1966 three bells came on the tower. In 1970 the then still independent small community laid out the cemetery.

The incorporation to Strullendorf took place on May 1, 1978. The regional reform in the Free State of Bavaria was carried out in the years 1971 to 1980 and had the goal of creating more efficient communities and districts. In the course of this measure, Zeegendorf came to Strullendorf with six other places and together with them forms the current municipality of Strullendorf.
