church

The Sint Jozefkerk in Leeuwen was built between 1922 and 1923. The design comes from the carpenter L. Mooren from Leeuwen.

During the Second World War the church was almost completely destroyed.

After the war they looked for a better place to build the church. In 1946 an emergency church was built. In the 1950s there were plans to expand the emergency church into a larger parish church. These plans were not implemented. In 2008 the church was closed.

school

There are two primary schools in Leeuwen. The oldest is the former St. Jozefschool am Schouwberg, now the free school "Christophorus". The St. Jozefschool moved to a new building on Jan Amentstraat in Leeuwen. The name was changed to "Basisschool Leeve".

The house of the former director of the Meester Heijen school is located near the old primary school.
