Legion Ost , later Law & Order , was a right-wing rock band from Gera that was active from 1993 to 1998.

Band history

Legion Ost was founded in 1993. In 1994 the demo One has to do the job was released . Her debut album Without Words was released in 1996 on the Danish right-wing rock label NS Records . This was followed by the sound carrier rules, compulsions, life (1997) on Di-Al Records. The band also took part in various compilations , including for the first German Blood and Honor sampler, in which Macht & Ehre , Kraftschlag and Reichssturm were also involved. In 1998 the band broke up after singers and drummers faced several years' imprisonment. The singer was already due beforeCriminal record for breach of the peace , grievous bodily harm and property damage .

The remaining musicians formed the band Law & Order. In 1999 the album Law & Order was released , on which the band greeted their former singer and dedicated the song to hope . The original plan was to make music together again after they were released from prison. In an interview, the band announced that their singer was already working on new lyrics. However, it stayed with this announcement.

ideology

Legion Ost were known in the right-wing extremist scene as one of the busiest live bands. The texts of their early publications were openly neo-Nazi , while the texts as Law & Order contained allusions to National Socialism , but were much more reserved. The band's songs remain popular on the scene and are occasionally covered . The band was close to the Blood and Honor youth organization White Youth , which was banned in 2000 . The band was also involved in the Thuringian right-wing rock scene around bands like Oithanasie and Eugenik . A member of Oithanasie played at Legion East. Another member of the band is said to have belonged to both Blood and Honor and the European White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan .
