Clay pit (Kettershausen)
Lehmgrube , also standby position Kettershausen , American name "Von Steuben" , was a position for rockets of the Pershing IA type from 1969, then Pershing II from 1983. It is located in Markt Buch in the Bavarian district of Neu-Ulm about 3 km northwest of Kettershausen . The position was under the 1st Battalion 81st Field Artillery Regiment stationed in Neu-Ulm .
After the end of military use, asylum seekers were temporarily housed on the site . Today (June 2014) is the fleet - service Autokontor Bayern GmbH main users. In January 2014, the site had 34 residents.
Before October 1, 2014, the clay pit belonged to the municipality-free area of Oberroggenburger Wald . Since then, the area with an area of 17.7 hectares belongs to the municipality of the market town of Buch .
