The Leicester River is a watercourse in Addison County in the US state of Vermont . It rises in the northwest of Lake Dunmore and flows southwest through the parish of Salisbury , to which the outflow from the lake also belongs, and flows about 10.2 km (as the crow flies) about halfway between Brandon and Cornwall in the area of the town of Leicester on the right in the upper reaches of Otter Creek . It primarily crosses forest landscapes, but also agricultural areas.
In the upper course of the river there are a number of waterfalls and whitewater areas where sport fishing is practiced. In the lower half of the river the watercourse meanders very strongly and forms a swamp area.
