Allen Blake Sarven (born July 18, 1963 in Lima , Ohio ) is an American wrestler and was best known by his ring name Al Snow . Until 2017 he was under contract with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling as a road agent .

Career

World Wrestling Federation

After he had drawn attention to himself mainly at Smoky Mountain Wrestling , Sarven came to the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE) in 1994. With the gimmicks Avatar and Shinobi , he had no significant success. From 1995 he went under the name Leif Cassidy and formed the tag team "The New Rockers" together with Marty Jannetty ; a reissue of the legendary from Jannetty and Michaels existing Rockers . After almost a year, the team was hired, whereupon the WWF Sarven employed again as a jobber . It was only in the course of the collaboration between the WWF and Extreme Championship Wrestling in the late 1990s that Sarven's career took off again.

Extreme Championship Wrestling

In the ECW , Sarven created the gimmick Al Snow that was to become the most successful of his career. He always brought "Head", the head of a mannequin, to the ring and treated him like a real person. Together with Duane Gill , The Blue Meanie , Bob Holly and 2 Cold Scorpio , he formed the stable "JOB Squad", the members of which were primarily characterized by their status as jobbers in the WWF. The JOB gimmick was also used by them in the WWF; Sarven still uses it today to some extent.

Return to WWF

Shortly before he should win the ECW World Heavyweight Championship , Sarven was ordered back to the WWF. There he continued his gimmick from the ECW, but moved it in a more humorous direction and thereby loosened up the WWF's less comic-like Attitude era.

After criticism from a professor at Kennesaw State University , Wal-Mart stopped selling action figures of the Al-Snow character. The reason for this was that the replica of "Head" that came with the figure could be viewed as a severed head of a woman and thus would endorse violence against women. This was first processed in a storyline and ultimately led to a revision of the gimmick and the abandonment of "Head".

In the following years Sarven was always part of the lower midcard . In August 2000 he won the WWF European Championship and often appeared jokingly as a representative of various European countries during his reign. He also won the WWF Hardcore Championship six times ; however, apart from the first, none of the reigns lasted longer than two days.

After his last win of the hardcore title in 2002, Sarven rarely appeared as a wrestler. He mainly worked as a commentator on the B-Show HEAT and later on the shows of the WWE Farm League Ohio Valley Wrestling . His most important role was as a coach on the reality show WWE Tough Enough . Since the founding of the WWE's ECW roster , Sarven has been back as a full-time wrestler under his old gimmick Al Snow, but is mainly used as a jobber. He has now been fired, but should continue to work as a coach for the WWE.

On December 10, 2007, Allen Sarven stepped into the ring one more time at RAW 's 15th Anniversary in a 15-man battle royal, featuring former RAW superstars of the past 15 years, among others. a. Doink the Clown, Sgt. Slaughter , Jim Neidhart , Scotty 2 Hotty and Gillberg, were present and he was eliminated fifth.

With the closure of Ohio Valley Wrestling , Sarven was fired from the WWE.

According to the WWE

After his release, Sarven could be seen in the independent scene all over the world. He appeared at the PPV Final Resolution of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in December 2008. In March 2010 he returned to TNA and worked there as a road agent until 2017 .

Over the years, Snow also worked in many film productions, including a. Hell House or Money Shot . His next projects include the horror films Alice D and Lake Eerie with Lance Henriksen .
