Leif Hult

Leif Arne Hult (born January 16, 1946 in Lomma ) is a former Swedish football player . The goalkeeper played 44 games in the Allsvenskan .

Career

Hult comes from the youth of GIF Nike , where he made his debut as a teenager in the goal of the then second division club . At a junior international match he was noticed by those in charge of the first division AIK , who took him as a guest player on an Asian tour after the end of the season in 1965 because the goalkeeper Arne Lundqvist stayed at home because his wife was expecting a child. Although he was convincing there, it was just under a year before the club signed him from the 1967 season . In April of that year he made his debut in the top division and met Malmö FF , of all places , where his brother Nils Hult guarded the goal. In the further course of the season he dueled with Gunnar Lund for the place between the posts, only in the following season he was number 1 under coach Ingemar Ingevik and was in 20 of the 22 season games on the field. For the 1969 season , the former goalkeeper Torsten Lindberg took over the coaching office, who signed the goalkeeping talent Ronny Gustafsson from the third division club Reymersholms IK . Once again a duel for the regular place in goal ensued, in which Hult got the short straw - not least when the club brought back Lundqvist , who had meanwhile played at IK Sleipner , in the summer . In total, he came to 39 first division games in three seasons for AIK.

In early 1970, Hult moved to the second division Landskrona BoIS , trained by his brother Karl-Erik Hult , with whom he rose to the Allsvenskan. There, however, he was mainly just a substitute goalkeeper behind Ronny Sörensson , so that he only came to five Allsvenskan games for the club from Skåne . In 1973 he returned to GIF Nike before rejoining Landskrona BoIS in 1978. After one and a half seasons, he moved to Höllvikens GIF in 1979 , before ending his career at Kirsebergs IF under coach Tom Prahl in 1982 .

Hult worked full-time as a joiner , first for 25 years with Skanska and later with Otto Magnusson .
