Leipzig Lark (Prize)
The Leipziger Lerche is a prize that the association “Together for Leipzig” awards annually to people or institutions through which Leipzig's reputation has grown nationally and internationally. The brass sculpture designed by the Leipzig artist Hartmut Klopsch consists of a ball with a winged hat on the lid ( Merkur's winged helmet ). The ball contains a representation of the eponymous pastry, a Leipzig lark. The award has been presented at the club's New Year's reception since 2006.
