The Lemberger Land (Polish Ziemia lwowska , Latin Terra Leopoliensis , Ukrainian Львівська земля ) was an administrative unit of the Polish-Lithuanian aristocratic republic in the Ruthenian Voivodeship from 1434 to 1772. The capital was Lwów (Ukrainian Lwiw , German Lemberg ).

The Lviv country comprised the powiat (districts)

  • Powiat Lwów ( powiat lwowski ), main town Lwów
  • Powiat Żydaczów ( powiat żydaczowski ), main town Żydaczów

It bordered the Przemyśler Land to the west, the Bełz Voivodeship to the north, the Volhynian Voivodeship to the northeast, and the Halitscher Land to the southeast .

In 1676 there were 42 towns and 618 villages in the Lviv region , 9 towns and 170 villages in the powiat Żydaczów .
