The Halitscher Land (Latin Terra Haliciensis , Polish Ziemia halicka ) was an administrative unit of Poland , the Kingdom of Poland from 1349 to 1569 and Poland-Lithuania from 1569 to 1772. From 1434 to 1772 it was part of the Ruthenian Voivodeship . The main town was Halytsch .

The Halitscher Land consisted of the powiat (circles)

  • Powiat Halicz ( Powiat Halicki ), capital Halych
  • Powiat Kołomyja ( Powiat kołomyjski ), main town Kołomyja
  • Powiat Trembowla ( Powiat trembowelski ), main town Trembowla (until 1569)

Castellans ( Starostwo grodowe ) there was in Halych and Trembowla, Staroste ( Starostwo niegrodowe ) in Kolomyja, Buczniów , Tłumacz , Rohatyn , Kałusz , Jablonow , Sniatyn , Buczacz , Sołotwina , Niżankowice and Mogilno .

In 1677 the Halitscher Land consisted of 38 towns and 565 villages.
