The Lemberghaus is a stand-alone hiking home owned by the Friends of Nature Germany . It is just under two kilometers north-north-west of Michelfeld in the Schwäbisch Hall district .

location

The Lemberghaus is located 490 m above sea level in the forest on the edge of the Waldenburg mountains above the Haller level .

history

The Lemberghaus was built in spring 1924 by volunteers from the Naturfreunde local group Schwäbisch Hall, founded in 1913, and inaugurated on June 28, 1925. After the expropriation and forced dissolution of the Friends of Nature on May 6, 1933, it served as a home for the Hitler Youth , the German Labor Front and as a KdF home and was expanded to include a kitchen and hall in 1937/38. After the end of the war, the US armed forces used the house from June 28 to October 19, 1945 as a rest home.

On December 2, 1945, the re-founded Naturfreunde-Ortsverein Schwäbisch Hall took over the house again, initially for lease , then again as the owner from November 18, 1950, after the State Youth Day of Nature Friends was celebrated at the Lemberghaus at Whitsun 1949 with 3000 participants.

Furnishing

Since the expansion in October 1990 to include a new building with ten beds, the Lemberghaus has 30 beds, a managed guest room (50 seats), a hall (80) and a seminar room (15) as well as an outdoor area for up to 120 people.

reachability

The Lemberghaus can be reached by car and bicycle via public roads from Schwäbisch Hall and Gnadental . The closest train station is in Schwäbisch Hall. A signposted hiking trail for Naturefriends leads to the Naturfreundehaus at Steinknickle near Wüstenrot - Neuhütten , the nearest town Michelfeld can be reached on foot via an unmarked path. The way from Schwäbisch Hall to Schuppach ( Pfedelbach municipality , Hohenlohekreis ) touches the Lemberghaus. The Hohenlohe Open Air Museum Wackershofen is about 3 km to the north-east and can be reached via forest paths .
