Lenchen Kunov

Lenchen Kunow (born April 12, 1911 in Uelzen ; † October 30, 1989 in Großburgwedel ) was a German sports functionary and author .

Life

Lenchen Kunow earned services in the period after the Second World War, especially in sports education , with a focus on women's sports . Among other things, she developed the Lüneburg Stegel . In 1949 Kunow was the first state woman warden in the Lower Saxony Gymnastics Federation (NTB), where she was five years later in 1954 in 1954. From the 1950s she wrote - together with Friedrich Preugschat - several sports books. In 1956 the gymnastics badge was introduced in Lower Saxony as a result of her work.

In 1972 Lenchen Kunow became deputy chairwoman of the NTB, and in 1978 its honorary member .

The sports functionary was posthumously honored with the Lenchen-Kunow-Weg in Hanover, Bothfeld district, which was laid out in 1999 .
