Lengheimb (also Lenghaimb , Lengheim ) is the name of an old noble family from Styria , which branched out as a knightly Styrian family with possessions also in Carniola and Lower Austria .

history

Origin and possessions

The origin of the Lengheimber (Lengheimer) is given after Siebmacher in Styria, after Herwig Ebner from Carniola. The documented line of trunks begins with Niclas von Lengheim , who died in 1420. In 1560 a Georg von Lengheimb is named, who died on January 14th and was buried in the Michaeler parish church in Vienna . Johann Andreas Graf von Lengheimb and Adam Graf von Lengheimb , raised to the old gentry of Lower Austria in 1714 , although their introduction to Siebmacher remains unclear. This was followed later by the inclusion of Joachim Graf von Lengheimb . He had no goods and carried the title of royal imperial chamberlain and was a state committee member of Styria . Joachim had descendants, but with Emanuel Graf von Lengheimb , Joachim's younger son, the male line of the von Lengheimb family died out . Emanuel von Lengheimb was treasurer and captain of the German Arcieren Guard , did not marry and died on March 15, 1845.

The two Palais Lengheimb in Graz, Palais von Lengheimb (Bürgergasse) and Palais Lengheimb (Hans-Sachs-Gasse) , as two of their properties, are reminiscent of the von Lengheimb family . Other possessions were Bertholdstein, Kapfenstein , Laubegg , Kalsdorf , St. Martin in Graz , Trautenburg , Schloss Paar ( Schloss Hartberg ) in Hartberg and Schwarzenegg.
