Lenka Ptáčníková (born January 16, 1976 ) is a Czech-Icelandic chess player who plays for the Icelandic Chess Federation.

Life

Her older brother Petr (* 1973) is also a chess player. In 2002 she married the Icelandic chess grandmaster Helgi Áss Grétarsson . She received Icelandic citizenship on May 28, 2004. She is now married to the Egyptian chess trainer Omar Salama, who lives in Iceland. She was the main referee at the Icelandic Schoolchildren's Championships in 2007 and 2009.

successes

In 1994 and 1996 she won the Czech women's individual championship, in 2006, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 the Icelandic women's championship . She won the women's Nordic championship in 2005 in Vammala , Finland , in Helsingør, Denmark in 2007 and in Växjö, Sweden in 2017 .

She has held the title of Women's Grand Master (WGM) since 2000, and she achieved a standard for obtaining the title of International Master (IM) at the 2010 Chess Olympiad . She has been leading the Icelandic women's ranking since she changed associations.

National team

Ptáčníková has participated in all eleven women's chess Olympiads since 1994 : she played for the Czech Republic until 2002 and for Iceland since 2004 . In 113 games at the Chess Olympiad, she scored 73 points (+53 = 40 −20). With the Czech national team, she took part in the third board of the Mitropa Cup in 1997 (besides Petra Krupková , she was the only woman to take part in the tournament), for Iceland she played on the top board at the European Women's Team Championships in 2005, 2013 and 2015.

In Iceland Ptáčníková played for the team of Taflfélagið Hellir , with whom she also took part in the 2003 European Women's Club Cup . In the Czech extra league she played in the 1997/98 season for ŠK Dům armády Prague . In the British Four Nations Chess League , she played for the Slough Sharks .
