Lentz Buttress is a striking cliff in Marie Byrd Land, West Antarctica . The 2800 m high formation rises 8 km east-northeast of Faure Peak along the north side of the Wisconsin Range in the Horlick Mountains .
The United States Geological Survey mapped the Lentz Buttress using its own surveys and aerial photographs by the United States Navy between 1960 and 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1967 after Lieutenant Malcolm W. Lentz (1932-2001) of the US Navy, on duty Officer at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in the Antarctic winter of 1962.
