The Wisconsin Range is a large mountain range of the Transantarctic Mountains in West Antarctic Marie Byrd Land , which includes the Wisconsin Plateau and various glaciers, ridges and peaks, those of the Reedy Glacier , the Shimizu Ice Current , the Horlick Ice Current and the Central Polar plateau .
The area was mapped by the United States Geological Survey and using United States Navy aerial photographs from 1959 to 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the mountain range in 1962 after the University of Wisconsin – Madison , which sent numerous researchers to Antarctica .
