The Shimizu Ice Stream is an ice stream in Marie Byrd Land in western Antarctica . In the Horlick Mountains it flows in a west-northwest direction from the area between the Wisconsin Range and the Long Hills to the southern flank of the Horlick Ice Current .
The area was from the United States Geological Survey and using aerial photographs of the United States Navy charted from 1959 to 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the ice flow in 1962 after the Japanese glaciologist Hiromu Shimizu, who was part of the occupation of Byrd Station in the winter of 1961.
