Lenz Kriss-Rettenbeck

Lorenz "Lenz" Kriss-Rettenbeck (* 1923 ; † June 25, 2005 in Berchtesgaden ) was a German folklorist and museum director.

Lenz Kriss-Rettenbeck was the adopted son of the Berchtesgaden religious scholar and folklorist Rudolf Kriss . From 1960, Kriss-Rettenbeck was a curator at the Bavarian National Museum . In 1974 he became its general manager. In this role he was one of the pioneers in the creation of farm and open-air museums . L. Kriss-Rettenbeck retired from his office in 1985 for health reasons and devoted himself to private studies in Berchtesgaden.

He was married to the author and poet Ruth Kriss-Rettenbeck (born 1924 in Munich).
