Leo Krämer (* 1944 in Püttlingen ) is a German church musician , conductor and university professor.

Leo Krämer studied church music in Trier and Saarbrücken . He completed his studies with Ludwig Doerr , Gaston Litaize , Michael Schneider , Sergiu Celibidache , Günther Wand and Eugen Jochum . In 1969 he took over the Saar Philharmonic Choir . In 1971 he was appointed organist at the Speyer Cathedral . In 1990 he became cathedral music director . From 1991 to 1993 he was chief conductor of the Estonian State Symphony Orchestra in Tallinn . Since 1995 he has conducted the Minsk Philharmonic . He is also a permanent guest conductor with the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra . In 1998 he was appointed honorary professor at the Saar University of Music in Saarbrücken and the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts . In February 2009, Krämer retired from his offices as cathedral music director and cathedral organist. His successors are Markus Melchiori as cathedral music director and Markus Eichenlaub as cathedral organist.
