Leo Tuor

Leo Tuor (born May 29, 1959 in Ilanz ) is a Swiss writer from the Bündner Oberland .

He grew up in Rabius and Disentis, where he attended the convent school and graduated with a type B Matura. In spite of the subsequent secondary teacher studies, he has made his life mainly as an alpine teacher . From 1981 to 1985 Leo Tuor worked as an editor for the Romansh magazine La Talina , which was founded by Father Flurin Maissen . In 1989 he began his work on the scientific edition of the works of the Surselvian poet historiographer Giacun Hasper Muoth (1844–1906) in six volumes under the direction of Iso Camartin, which lasted until 2000 .

In 2004 he was awarded the Hubert Burda Prize for Young Poetry , in 2007 a single work prize from the Swiss Schiller Foundation, and in 2009 the Bündner Literature Prize .

He lives with his wife and three children in Surrein in the remote Val Sumvitg .
