Leon Kalin

Leon Kalin (born July 27, 1957 ) is a Slovenian handball official and former handball referee .

He worked internationally as a handball referee. As such, he took part in the 1999 women's handball world championship . He often worked with Enes Koric.

The German news magazine Der Spiegel reported in March 2009 that Kalin should have tried in March 2004 to influence the referee of the match between BM Valladolid and RK Gorenje Velenje in the European Cup Winners' Cup , Michele Falcone, so that the team from Slovenia should win.

Kalin took part as a technical delegate of the International Handball Federation (IHF) in the 2007 men's handball world championship in Germany .

He was elected President of the Commission of Organizing and Competition (COC) at the IHF conference in Cairo in June 2009 .
