Leonard Kelly-Young (born September 29, 1948 in Chicago , Illinois , USA) is an American actor .

life and career

Kelly-Young attended Tuley High School in Chicago from 1963 to 1965. He studied journalism at the University of Illinois , where he was a member of the university's broadcasting club. In the 2007/08 season he worked as a stage actor for the Rubicon Theater Company, where he a. a. participated in Bus Stop and Hamlet . In 2012 he had an engagement with the Ensemble Theater Company in Santa Barbara . In September / October 2014 Kelly-Young starred in the play Choir Boy at the Gil Cates Theater in Los Angeles .

In film and television, where he has been active since the late 1980s, Kelly-Young worked almost exclusively as a supporting actor. He was often used as a detective, police officer, security guard or businessman.

In the 1990s he was part of the regular cast of the action series Renegade as Jim Ryan ; He also acted briefly in the role of the villain Gus Bertoli in the soap opera Zeit der Sehnsucht from 1992–1993 . In the movie Sliver (1993) he played a priest.

Kelly-Young had numerous guest appearances in US television series, u. a. in Pros Contra Crooks (1991, with Madge Sinclair ), A Terribly Nice Family (1994), Pacific Blue - The Beach Police (1996), Mike Hammer, Private Eye (1998), CSI: Vegas (2000), Carnivàle (with Adrienne Barbeau ) and Boston Legal (2008).

In the US television series Star Trek: Enterprise , he played the role of the Borothan and warp drive theorist Sonsorra in the first season in the episode Cold Front in 2001. His costume was offered in online auctions in 2007 and 2008.

He is also known for his roles in the feature films Gone Girl (2014) and Rampart: Cop Out of Control (2011).
