Leonhard Schmöller

Leonhard Schmöller (born December 18, 1871 in Reut near Jandelsbrunn , † August 20, 1945 in Passau ) was a German prelate and university professor in Passau.

After completing his studies, Schmöller was ordained a priest in 1893 . From 1896 to 1898 he continued to study in Rome . Then he was a cooperator in St. Bartholomäus in the Passau district of Ilzstadt and from 1899 lecturer in the St. Stephan seminary in Passau . From 1903 to 1937 he was a professor at the PTH Passau, where he was also rector from 1920 to 1923.

Schmöller was known as a natural philosopher and also researched local history and art history. He was the Episcopal Spiritual Council . In November 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler .
