Friedrich Rothfuss
Friedrich Rothfuß (born January 31, 1884 in Baiersbronn ; † May 15, 1960 ) was a German SPD politician . From 1945 to 1948 he was the first mayor of Freudenstadt after the Second World War .
Rothfuss learned the profession of typesetter and worked for several years as an editor at the Kaupert publishing house . After the First World War he was a member of the Freudenstadt City Council for the SPD until 1928, was also a trade unionist and was a member of the board of directors of the general local health insurance fund and the consumer association. In 1933, after the National Socialists seized power , he was interned in the Heuberg camp and released after 50 days. At the publishing house Kaupert he was only allowed to do auxiliary jobs with reduced wages, he was now a typesetter and proofreader for travel guides and address books.
After the end of the Second World War, Rothfuß was appointed provisional mayor of Freudenstadt by the French occupying powers . Following the first democratic city council elections after the war on September 15, 1946, he was confirmed in office. During his term of office he was also a member of the Advisory State Assembly of the State of Württemberg-Hohenzollern . In 1948 he was replaced by Hermann Saam in the office of mayor.
