Leonid Gulov
Leonid Gulov (born September 29, 1981 in Narva ) is an Estonian rower .
Sporting successes
Gulov won the gold medal in the singles competition at the Junior World Championships in 1998 and 1999 . In 2000 he started together with Andrei Silin at the Olympic Summer Games in Sydney . They finished ninth in the double scull . In 2001, together with Tõnu Endrekson, he won the gold medal in the double scull at the U23 world regatta , which since 2005 has had the status of U23 world championships. In the same year he was able to occupy seventh place with the Estonian four- four at the World Championships in Lucerne. At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens he rowed again with Endrekson in double sculls and just missed an Olympic medal with fourth place. In 2005 he started together with Endrekson, Jüri Jaanson and Andrei Jämsä in the Estonian four-four. Among other things, they won the World Cup races in Eton and Lucerne . At the world championships in Gifu they fight for the bronze medal. Since 2006, Gulov has started in one. At the 2007 World Rowing Championships , he finished 24th.
Awards
- In 2004 Gulov was voted Team of the Year in Estonia together with his colleague Tõnu Endrekson .
- In 2005 he won the team of the year election in Estonia with the Estonian double scull
