Leonid Wassylowytsch Huberskyj (born October 4, 1941 in Myrhorod , Poltava Oblast , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian philosopher and rector of the Taras Shevchenko National University in Kiev .

Life

Huberskyj is a doctor of philosophy and the author of over 250 scientific publications. As a professor, he headed the Institute for International Relations at Taras Shevchenko University. By decree №1266-k of October 28, 2008 of the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, he became from that date, succeeding Viktor Skopenko , Rector of Kiev University. He is also an academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences and, since 2003, an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine .

Honors

Huberskyj is an honorary citizen of the cities Myrhorod and Kiev since 1999 and winner of the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise V Class and since 2004 the IV. Class. In 2009 he was awarded the title Hero of Ukraine and in 2013 he was awarded the Order of Freedom .
