Leonid Michailowitsch Romanow ( Russian Леонид Михайлович Романов ; born February 13, 1947 in Moscow , Russian SFSR ) is a former Soviet foil fencer .
successes
Leonid Romanow was world champion in the team competition in Havana in 1969 and in Ankara in 1970 and also won silver in 1967 in Montreal and bronze in 1971 in Vienna . In 1970 he was runner-up in the individual world championship, and in the following year he won the bronze medal. At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich , he moved with the team to the final against Poland , which was lost 5-9. Together with Vladimir Denisov , Viktor Putjatin , Anatoli Koteschew and Wassyl Stankowytsch , he received the silver medal.
