Leopold Böhm (singer)

Leopold Böhm (born April 5, 1865 in Graz ; † December 9, 1933 there ) was an Austrian lawyer and singer. He was the father of the conductor Karl Böhm .

Live and act

During his studies he became a member of the Academic Singing Society Gothia zu Graz . After his doctorate as Dr. iur. Böhm worked from 1889 as a lawyer and as a general counsel in the Styrian Savings Bank . He was also active as a concert singer again and again and was considered an important promoter of Graz's musical life.

Böhm was chairman of the Styrian Mountain Club for many years and was considered a nature lover.

In 1907, Böhm gave the Styrian Mountain Association the Plabutsch summit, including the princes .
