Leopold Fellner

Leopold "Leo" Fellner (* 1921 ; † 1992 ) was an Austrian architect .

Life

Leopold Fellner was born in 1921 and from 1946 studied with Erich Boltenstern at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna . Later he was part of a large architectural community, consisting of Fellner, Brigitte Wiedmann , Wilhelm Twerdy , Josef Chromy , Heinrich "Heinz" Reiter and Rainer Stelzig , who built the large residential complex Berliner Hof on the corner of Koppstrasse and Possingergasse in the 16th century . Viennese district Ottakring designed. In later years he designed, among other things, the residential complex Lehnergasse 4 in Vienna's 15th district of Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus, which was built from 1976 to 1977 and consisted of 10 apartments for the municipality of Vienna . Immediately afterwards, from 1977 to 1979 in the same district at Lehnergasse 4, a complex consisting of 36 residential units, which was also designed by Fellner, was built. In 1982 this facility was named Anton-Matourek-Hof in honor of the Viennese local politician Anton Matourek, who died a few years earlier . A plaque commemorating Matourek was installed on the facade of the house. Fellner, who was in his early 70s, died in 1992.
