Leopold mother

Leopold Mutter (born December 22, 1827 in Unteralpfen , † May 27, 1887 in Munich ) was an altar and portrait sculptor.

Life

Leopold Mutter was a student of the sculptors Johann Petz and Ferdinand Preckle, whose studio he took over after his death in 1865 at the same time as the still unfinished work on the altar of the parish church in Donauwörth. He created sculptures for a number of churches in southern Germany, including in Mindelheim, Breitenbrunn, Türkheim, Westerheim, the pilgrimage church in Wemding and his hometown Unteralpfen. He was a member of the Munich Association for Christian Art, founded in 1860 .
