Leopoldina Teresa Francisca Carolina Micaela Gabriela Rafaela Gonzaga de Bragança (born July 13, 1847 in Rio de Janeiro , † February 7, 1871 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary ) was a princess of Brazil .

Life

Leopoldina was a daughter of Emperor Peter II of Brazil and Empress Teresa Maria Cristina of Naples-Sicily .

On December 15, 1864, she married Prince Ludwig August of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha , son of Prince August of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and Clementine d'Orléans , Princess of France.

Princess Leopoldina died of typhus in Vienna in 1871 at the age of 23 . She was buried in the so-called Koháry crypt of the St. Augustin church in Coburg .
