Leova ( Russian Леова Leowa, Yiddish לעאָוואַ) is a city on the left bank of the Prut in the southwest of the Republic of Moldova with 7400 inhabitants (2014).

The village, which was founded in Bessarabia in 1489 , received the status of a city in 1940 and is the administrative center of the 745 km² large Rajon Leova with a total of 51,000 inhabitants. (2014)

The place lies on the border with Romania and is connected to the Moldovan road network via the regional road R-34 . The capital Chișinău is 95 km northeast of Leova.
