Lepismium lorentzianum is a species of the genus Lepismium in the cactus family(Cactaceae).
description
Lepismium lorentzianum grows epiphytically with richly branched shoots . The fresh green, flattened or triangular shoot segments are notched wavy at their edges and have a protruding central rib . They are 10 to 30 inches long and 2 to 4 inches wide. The areoles sitting in the notches are not deeply sunk. They are covered with a little wool and have neither bristles nor thorns .
The individually appearing, hanging, small, yellowish white flowers are bell-shaped to funnel-shaped. Your smooth pericarpel is square. The somewhat square fruits are purple in color.
Distribution, systematics and endangerment
Lepismium lorentzianum is distributed in the Andes foreland in the Bolivian department of Tarija and in the Argentine provinces of Jujuy , Salta and Tucumán at altitudes of 500 to 2000 meters. It was first described as Rhipsalis lorentziana in 1879 by August Grisebach . Wilhelm Barthlott placed them in the genus Lepismium in 1987 .
In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
