Lera Lynn (born December 5, 1984 in Houston , Texas ) is an American singer-songwriter . She grew up in Georgia .

Career

In 2014, Lera Lynn began writing music for the HBO series True Detective with songwriter and record producer T-Bone Burnett . She also appeared several times in the bar "The Black Rose", which is frequented by the protagonists of the series. Her album The Avenues , which she released in 2014, was voted number 33 of the 40 Best Country Albums of 2014 . In the fall of 2015 she is on tour in several states in the USA.
