Lerchenberg is a district of the Upper Swabian market of Erkheim in the Unterallgäu district in Bavaria . The village is located about 1.5 kilometers north of Erkheim and is connected to it via the MN 13 district road, which runs north of the village. To the south is the Oberweiher , to the west is the Untere Halde forest . The areas around the hamlet are mainly used for agriculture. To the southeast lies the Rolleberg .

When the Oberweiher was drained, a pointed ax with spiked tracks, a ground cutting edge and a pierced hammer from the Neolithic Age was discovered. This already indicates a very early settlement of the area. The hamlet first became historically tangible in 1469 when Jörg Mangolt sold it to Gerbhard Gäb. The Memmingen citizen Konrad Ott built a castle in 1500. In 1693 the lower and higher jurisdiction belonged to the Scheller quarter of Erkheim. The Ottobeuren monastery came into their possession in 1719.
