Schlegelsberg is a church village and part of the market town of Erkheim in the Swabian district of Unterallgäu in Bavaria .
geography
Schlegelsberg is about 2 kilometers south of Erkheim. The village is connected to the main town by the state road St 2011 and a municipal road. The Eastern Günz runs on the western edge of the village .
history
Schlegelsberg was first mentioned in a document as Perc am Slegelsperc in the 13th century. In the 13th and 14th centuries the monasteries Irsee , Rot an der Rot and Ottobeuren were hatched. Furthermore, the Memmingen citizens Hans Merz and Hans Wiedemann, the Memmingen lower and upper hospital possessions in the place. In the 18th century, the mountain range between Sontheim and Breitenbrunn was called Schlegelsberg. In 1954 a tooth of a primitive horse was found west of the village.
On May 1, 1978, Schlegelsberg, which had previously formed an independent municipality with Knaus , was incorporated into Erkheim.
