Les Caméléons are a French ska and rock band from the Loire-Atlantique department in France . Born out of the alternative rock spirit of the 1980s, they follow in the footsteps of bands like Negu Gorriak , Les Wampas or Mano Negra .
history
Five musicians from Nantes founded a rock band in 1991, which was joined by a trombonist in 1995 and a saxophonist in 1997. Since their first album in 1995, Les Caméléons have performed throughout France and abroad, particularly in alternative clubs and at larger festivals. In their music they combine ska with rock influences such as punk rock and latin rock, with the wind instruments particularly in the foreground. They sing their lyrics in French and Spanish.
Les Caméléons have released nine albums to date. In September 2007, Mike was replaced by Quentin on trombone. In November 2007, Sam (trumpet) left the band. He was replaced by Marc. In 2010 the line-up changed. In 2011 the band celebrates its 20th anniversary. Her new album Les Caméléons was released in 2013 .
