Letham is a place in Scotland , in the traditional county of Angus , now the Council Area of the same name.
Letham is the largest city of Angus and is 17 miles from Dundee , five miles from Forfar , ten miles from Arbroath and also ten miles from Carnoustie . The city has a well-functioning local supply system and is surrounded by hiking trails that are supervised by volunteers.
Celebrations and sights
Victoria market , known throughout the county, is held every July . During the market day, the main street is closed to traffic and populated by stalls and their visitors. The stallholders and vendors wear Victorian costumes and offer antiques and rustic dishes.
Craftsmen from all over Scotland gather in Letham in March and December for a fair to display their wares. The best quality is required to be able to participate. All these events, as well as the Christmas decorations and Christmas carols , are organized by associations under the direction of the Feuars Committee , the city's oldest civic association.
Outside the city in the direction of Dunnichen is the Girdlestane , a prehistoric cup-and-ring stone . From here there is a good view of Dunnichen Hill, where the Battle of Dunnichen Mere is said to have taken place on May 20, 685 .
