action

Private detective Georg Wilsberg receives an assignment from his best friend Manni to find out what caused his uncle's car accident. There is one witness, but she doesn't tell the whole truth. Before Wilsberg can get to the bottom of the truth, the woman is murdered. Silke Buschfeld was a journalist and Commissioner Springer suspects the ex-boyfriend of the victim, who, according to the residents, did not want to accept the separation so easily, so that there have often been arguments lately. Hans Haffner is arrested and he admits that he is very jealous, but that he could never have harmed his girlfriend. Wilsberg was able to speak to the suspect briefly and found out that he was to blame for Manni's uncle's accident because the car had to avoid him when he followed his girlfriend's motorcycle.

Wilsberg's assignment is thus done, but since he was confronted with a murder during his research, he cannot help but interfere in the police investigation. He asks Michael Beerkamp, the victim's colleague, but he doesn't tell the whole truth either. Coincidentally, Alex applied to the legal department in which Beerkamp works for an internship and so Wilsberg hopes to learn more from her. The first thing he found out was that Silke Buschfeld had been researching the bankrupt construction company Westenbrink and that she was interested in a very specific property.

An observation from Beerkamp leads Wilsberg to Britta Windhorst. Her car was seen by a witness at the crime scene at the time of the crime and she owns the house that Silke Buschfeld had researched. To his great surprise, Wilsberg finds out that public prosecutor Günther Olsen is Windhorst's partner. This explains why Olsen had been very involved in this case and tried to get Commissioner Springer to close the case. However, after Olsen is blackmailed by Beerkamp, he tries to attribute the murder to him. Wilsberg tries to help Beerkamp and learns from him that Olsen had received the house from Westenbrink at a preferential price because he had let a lawsuit go on for his benefit. In order not to let this corruption be exposed, he now wants to silence Michael Beerkamp after Silke Buschfeld. But Wilsberg is able to prevent this second murder and Olsen is arrested.

background

The screenplay was written for the first time by a team of amateur authors in this Wilsberg series. A total of six authors who had qualified for the award-winning Internet project "eScript" (Grimme Online Award "Media Competence" 2001) developed the book together with the editorial team and production via the Internet. A continuation of this type of script development is planned.

Last resort, Murder , was released on DVD along with The Minister and the Girl from Polar Film .

The running gag "Bielefeld" refers in the 71st minute to Alex's goal of looking for a new internship there.
