Lighthouse fog
The Nebel lighthouse or Leuchtfeuer Nebel is a small lighthouse on the German North Sea coast in Schleswig-Holstein . It is located in the Süddorf district of the Nebel municipality on the island of Amrum in the North Friesland district .

The 9.6 meter high and red, white and red painted lighthouse was built in 1981 mainly from aluminum components. It serves as a beacon for the Norderaue fairway . The height of the fire is 16 meters above the MThw and the range of the light is about 19.5 nautical miles . Since its commissioning, the tower has been remotely controlled by the Waterways and Shipping Office in Tönning .
It is almost identical to the Wittdün lighthouse in the south of the island , which was switched off in 1988.
The tower is the fourth lighthouse on the island , along with the Amrum lighthouse and the cross- branding fire or Norddorf lighthouse and the no longer functional tower in Wittdün.
